Citadel Colour Inks are just the thing for shading your basecoats, just thin down the ink with a little water and paint on the miniature. The ink will flow into all the folds and crevices - instant shading. You can also apply glazes. A glaze is an area where you paint on the ink, let it dry, and paint it on again. The more layers you build up, the brighter the area becomes, giving a really glossy finish.
